Some Interesting Listening

OK. Hopefully, this will work. My internet has been acting funny all day. In theory, you should be looking at the biggest evildoer our country has to offer OH WAIT!!! THERE HE IS. ok good. it's working. Anyway, just kidding about the evildoer thing. I know some people do think of him as that whereas I just think of W as a mistake our country made twice.

So why is our President in my blog? He's here for 2 reasons. First, I had an amazing realization the other day when I flipped to CMT to watch The Dukes of Hazzard for about fifteen minutes. Next time your watching the Dukes, close your eyes whenever Sherriff Rosco is talking. I'll be damned if he doesn't sound exactly like George W. Bush.

Second, I discovered that you can listen to the real George W via podcasting. As a result, I listened to about 10 of his weekly radio speeches. They're less than 4 minutes each. It's no wonder that if you're a Bush fan, that you feel things are going well in this country. Listening to him speak, it's hard to believe that anything in this country is for the worse.

There is one thing that is funny when you listen to the these weekly speeches all in a row. There's a lot of repitition. There were four or five times I thought I was listening to a podcast that I'd already heard when it turns out I had not. The Prez likes to drive his point home week by week by saying it again and again.

B4 I sign off, I let my out west friend Mr. Chair know that I was listening to the Prez. His response? "don't listen to that evil!" Maybe he is an evildoer. I hope I'm around in 20 years so that I can hear how historians define these times.

good summary. Evil; maybe, mistake; definitely. And I've always felt that if you disagree with someone that is all the more reason to listen to them and learn what you can about them, so you can explain why you disagree with them. good blog!

Did my husband read this? Amazing you two are still friends.

Evil huh? I wanted to jump on this criticism b/c I think W is "good" to the core; perhaps not the brightest leader we've had, but I personally think he is innately good, moral, kind, etc.

But by definition ... Evil means 'morally bad or wrong; wicked: Causing ruin, injury, or pain; harmful: Characterized by or indicating future misfortune; ominous: Bad or blameworthy by report; infamous: Characterized by anger or spite; malicious' So, I'll let it go ... and say, perhaps, to some, this definition fits.

BUT I agree with mysterio2k5 -- I do believe only people who vote should criticize how the rest of the voters voted. (Identity of mysterio2k5 is unknown to me ... but they know you don't vote ... who may this be I wonder).

Love ya anyway, clearly Tim does, too. Interesting. See ya Sunday.

What the hell happened here? I was just kidding about the evil. I took it back. My friend verified at the end that people hold that sentiment. I guess I need to adress some things before I leave(I was almost out the door.)

First off, I did not vote in the last election because I had some drivers license issues that needed to be taken care of. Otherwise I would have and by the way, the reason, I didn't think it was critical that I get my vote out there as I knew my state would cover Kerry which it did.

Second of all, to those of you I lied to and said I did vote because I would have gotten a very long lecture I appologize for lying. However the shameful feelings I might have as a result of having to come forward with this truth are overshadowed by the disdain I have for those who exposed my lie. HOLY COW, if Karen wasn't one of my best friends, the words I would have for you too. However, she is, and well ok fine, I guess I'll stick with disdain.

Third, I would like to reiterate, the my "evil" comment was a joke and makes reference to the fact that other people feel that way and furthermore I would like to point out that the word "evil" is used much more frequently these days because W put it out there.

Fourth, uh...this notion some people have about that whole you can't be critical if you didn't vote thing....You realize that's just an opinion right? It's not a law or an amendment or something you could get deported for. It's just an opinion that you're entitled to have and it's one that many people have.

Fifth, here's my opinion. I think you're wrong. I can back it up too. Here, watch this. I didn't vote in the last election...and I think our President is bad. Ohhh...look at me. Still standing here, not voting having an opinion. Oh, I've done it now.

My point on that last one is that I'm going to have an opinion regardless of whether or not you think I'm allowed to have one and furthermore, I'm going to let you know it if I feel so obliged.

In conclusion, I would like to point out the irony that I caught Presidential opinion backlash flack in a blog entry that provided a link so that you can hear the President speak on a weekly basis.

Also, I actually do not think the President is an evildoer. I believe you have to have malicious intent when acting evil. I believe that our President does a lot of really lame thing, some of which cost people their lives, because he believes he is doing the right thing.

good point about not voting. There was never any question about Kerry winning CT first of all. Second of all, George Carlin did a great skit about this whole thing. His point was, ONLY the people that don't vote should complain, because they are the only ones who can say, "it's not my fault, I didn't even vote" lol. I'm not sure if I agree, but it's a funny perspective.
