I had an epiphany

So lately, I've been a bit off. I wouldn't say I've been depressed but I've been out of sorts. I've felt like I had symptoms but no cure. Actually, come to think of it, I did go thru a phase a month ago where I was ill and I only feel as though I've mostly recovered from it.

But take last night for example. I was exhausted and planned not only to sleep well through the night but well into today as well as this morning was the first morning I didn't have any pressing issues. So what happened? I woke up around 1, couldn't get back to sleep until 3:30ish and then woke up around 7:30ish this morning. Again, I don't feel like what I've been going thru is a depression per say but I've felt like I was trapped in a prison and I didn't know why and I couldn't see the walls to try and mount some sort of escape.

Thankfully whenever I go thru this sort of situation, I tend to arrive at a point where I suddenly see clearly what the problem is where it suddenly seems obvious and I don't know why I didn't see the problem all along. Today, I came to a realization. What I believe to be true is that for a while now I've been searching for rest and relaxion where there was no rest and relaxation to be had. Like last night, I've been trying to sleep but I haven't been tired. I think I have a lot of work in me but my nature has been to avoid that work.

What does that mean exactly? I'm not sure. But, if I had to guess, I think I've been lacking in small victories that are achieved from being a doer as opposed to the bit of emptiness that comes from being quiet and complacent. I think I'm ready to do some achieving.

Well, Almost...

So I thought I was going to write some extravagant blog entry on my life goings but it turned out to be too much for me to handle. You'd think I'd learn by now that I never finish a blog entry that I can't post immediately but that was not the case. I worked on something for an hour or two, then put it aside, and now it's past tense and I just don't feel like finishing it anymore. So I thought I'd put in another radio blogging thing and see where it goes from there.

As I mentioned before, I've continued to update the radio station over the last few weeks. What's changed is that I'm no longer helping the station out from the listening side. Up until a month ago, I had a couple computers periodically helping out the station with it's listening hours, but now I'm just letting the world decide the fate of The Year Of The 200. Although I'm no longer helping the station out, the YOT200 still averages at least 1 new preset a day so while the station's listening hours are slowly dropping, the station is still going strong. We'll see if, at the end of the year, the station manages to stay within the top 50. Here's this past week's numbers:

Top 5 U.S. Listeners

I'm Back

Hey everyone. It's been a while, but I've been busy. In July, I spent just about every day working on the tour de France. Last week, Kristine and I went on a cruise to Bermuda with a large portion of her family. Aside from last week, I have continued to update the radio station with new playlists and I was thrilled to come back and see that all of you continued to listen. I have tomorrow off and I've got a few thoughts to get off my chest so by the end of tomorrow, you should have a hefty blog entry to read.

Talk to you soon.
