A Cause For Celebration

Last night I was very excited to find that my Bon Jovi loving, up and coming writer, best friend's wife and great friend herself, the lovely Mrs. Karen Lynch, will soon have her writing published in an upcoming book. Her short story, "Momma's Girl" is to be included in the soon to be released anthology, "Chicken Soup for the Shopper's Soul". Seeing your hard work on the printed page is very exciting and I feel so awesome for Karen. You can read what Karen has to say about the book on her blog. You can also read about the book on the publisher's site. The book will be available for purchase on November 7th. Congratulations Karen!!! You're The Best!

Big Fan Of The HDV

I started digitizining Mike & Laura's wedding into iMovie today and thought I might post a frame I exported from my HDV video camera. As a professional video editor, I've always looked down on iMovie as a nice thing for the regular consumer but a little beneath my talents. Since I haven't installed FCP on my MacBook Pro, I decided to make my life easy and just use iMovie. Holy Cow! The capablities of iMovie and iDVD are freakin Amazing. I'm diggin this software now.

Wedding Photos: Kristine's Camera

These are my 2 favorite pictures of Kristine ever.

Earlier this year, I bought Kristine her own digital camera. It's one of those Canon Digital Elfs. The camera is small, light and easy to use. It also takes some of the burden off me taking pictures all the time with my bulky but fabulous Canon Rebel XT. Having the camera worked out great for the rehearsal dinner, prewedding photos and the honeymoon. You can check out all of Kristine's wedding related photos here.

  6. Faint - Linkin Park
  7. Crazy Bitch - Buckcherry
  8. Take It Away - The Used

Groomsman Tim Beeber

Happy 4th of July. I thought I might put up a few more wedding pics for those of you have been waiting for them. This set comes from the camera of Groomsman extraordinaire Tim Beeber who Kristine and I owe great thanx to for shooting our prewedding video which one day will be posted amongst these pages.

I chose this photo to highlight the set for one key reason but I'll get to that in a sec. Ya know, I've often told people that while our wedding was fantastic, it was a long hard ride to get to the day of the wedding. I've slowed down on telling people that because...well, why do they need to know? If I had half a brain, I'd never mention the hardships of putting together the wedding and let the fairy tailesque event live in the minds of people as a work of perfection.

And that is exactly what I intended to do until I saw this picture of Tim, did a backflip and realized I owed it to future wedding people of the possible danger of forgetfulness that comes with any wedding day.

Tim Beeber is standing in front of his house in front of a beautiful white limo that picked him up at his house as it did my 2 other groomsmen, my father and myself. (My best man needed his vehicle so he drove himself). Kristine and her bridesmades had an identical white limo that drove them around before the wedding. Kristine and I chose these limos because we had seen other bridal party pictures taken with identical limos and we wanted to do the same on our wedding day.

This picture here of Kristine and her mother by the limo is the only other picture to my knowledge that exists of a limo on our wedding day. Now these limos were pricy and because the bride and her party were running behind prior to the wedding, both limos went into overtime. I don't know the final math, but that's a good chunk of change for photos we never took. At least Mr. Beeber had the presence of mind to capture a wealthy moment for himself.

I just put this out there for those of you getting married so that you can be sure to keep track of these kinds of things. Other than that, we had a great freakin wedding and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

Again Happy 4th.

A MILEstone And An Old Friend

Today was a big day in the history of my running as it was the first time I ran a mile without stopping to breathe. When it comes to fitness, I just keep getting better. More running news to come as it becomes available.

I'd like to give a shout out to my old friend, Amy Sander, who congratulated me on my marriage in these pages a few posts ago. Amy is one of my few high school friends that I still keep in touch with and if there's a Guns N Roses or Metallica concert in the Tri State area, you might see us there.

Above, she is pictured with what I assume to be two Germen men. Amy is part of a group called Deutsch NYC. I don't think she's in charge of the club but she must be pretty high up as she sends out something like 20 emails a day regarding the club. If you are a German person looking to do German things and you live anywhere around New York, you should definitely check out Amy's German club.

One last thing. Anyone watching the Tour de France on OLN? I've never been into cycling but now that I'm working around it, it's pretty exciting. If you catch any footage of the Tour on the news with type on the bottom of the screen that reads, "Courtesy of OLN", then I probably have something to do with that.

Talk 2 u soon.

WOO-HOO!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Happy Dave. Since I posted the pic of Whiny Bitch Dave, I thought it only right to post of photo from my successes as a runner. And today my friends, I am a successful runner.

Kristine and her Mom are upstairs taking a nap so I had a few minutes to throw out a few numbers. (Yes, I'm the one who ran 5 miles this morning and they're upstairs taking the nap. It just goes to prove my theory that Walmart can be freakin exhausting)

Today, I ran 5 miles in 57 minutes and 54 seconds. That translates to 1 mile every 11.58 minutes. For those of you keeping score at home, that time means I'm getting faster as my last official mile time was 12 minutes. YAY!!!

Two weeks ago when I weighed myself post race, I was at 266 lbs with 29% body fat. I'm proud to report that 14 days later, I now weigh 260 lbs with 28% body fat. That's definitely cool because I wasn't on a perfect diet during that time. Poker night called for some heavy drinking and while I wasn't eating much ice cream, I did discover Sorbet and wouldn't ya know, that stuff comes in pints as well. My point is that my diet this last two weeks was reasonable and something I can continue without any problem. That means if I keep up the exercise, don't stray from the diet, and the weight loss is consistent, 20 weeks from now, I'll be at 200 lbs.

WOW, does that sound ambitious. Then again, I've run 2 races in the last 4 weeks. Suddenly the impossible is now seeming more plausable in my world. If my math is correct, that puts 200 lbs on November 5th. That's exciting. Alright, I can't ever remember my weight being south of 245. Let's see....In theory, that will happen on...August 12th. That's pretty amazingly cool. Boy, I wonder if I can do it. I guess we'll find out together.

By the way, let me say thanx to all the people I dedicated miles to this time around. I felt like you were all running with me. Because I beat my expected time, I only had a few minutes of Judy Blue Eyes on the run. After I got home, I took a walk to the post office to return a Netflix and listened to the complete song at that time. I felt like my Mom and I were celebrating the accelerated victory as I listened to the song. Today was a good day.

Thanx for your continued reading. I'll talk 2 u soon.
