Trying this picture thing

So this is my first picture posting. It occurred to me after I made my last post that I hadn't clarified why it was a dreary day. Yesterday, we had terrential(sp?) downpour and today the rain has been sporadic.

Kristine and I went for a walk about an hour ago so I could get some coffee and she could get her nails done. I noticed after this mornings post that blogger now allows you to upload up to 300mb worth of pictures, so I snapped one before our walk. I so love that google lets me do this for free.

A Dreary Thursday Morning

Not feeling like I have a ton to say this morning. Then again, ya never know.

The cleaning people came yesterday. God I love cleaning people. Now that I live with someone that keeps a clean house, we're only having Silos and Annalucia (sp?) come once every other week. I guess that's all we really need them but there's nothing like coming home to that clean smell. They are fantastic.

I saw War of the Worlds yesterday and it was a pretty good film. Cinderella Man is still my top pick currently in the theatres but if you've seen it already, then War is worth a look.

I fret to mention this because I'm afraid I won't follow through on it and then I'll look silly but I feel the time is right to tell you. I'm anxious to write a book. I always have been and I've dabbled a little here and there but next week, I'm taking it very seriously. Since I have some time off now, I'm making the most of it and next week, I'm finally going to find out if I have what it takes to be a writer.

Monday through Friday of next week, I'm working for myself. I'm going to take eight hours each day with no distractions and sit in my office and write. I'm going to give it 100% so that when the week is over, I will either know that I'm writer material or that I can put this silly dream to rest.

I decided yesterday that I should do some warm up session before Monday comes to get myself ready. The hour I spent yesterday was a little difficult, but somewhat promising. I expect to do better today and Sunday. I won't be writing Friday or Saturday because tomorrow, Kristine and I are going up to Mohegan Sun and staying the night. Then on Saturday, we're going into NYC to see Wicked on Broadway.

Alright. Time to jump on the cross trainer. Talk 2 ya l8r.

Here comes the Blog Man

Hello Ladies And Gentlemen,

I'd like to start by welcoming myself back to the wonderful world that is Dave. That's right. I said "myself". Yesterday, started my minimum 2 month self impose hiatus from work which means I no longer have any excuses for not writing in this blog on a regular basis. Cause I'm FREEEEEEE!!!!! YAY!!!

I'm anxious to get on my excercise machine so I'm going to try and keep this entry a quick check in.

Yesterday was a very slovenly day. I laid out on the couch watching episodes of Enterprise on DVD as well as movies on Hi Def cable like The Italian Job (which by the way is one of the greatest movies ever made). Also, in spite of being proud of losing 5 pounds last week, I certainly consumed more food than was necessary including some burgers, pudding, turkey, and a pint of that Dave Matthews Ben & Jerry's ice cream. Chocolate and Rasberry. What a fantastic combination.

Hello to Amy my long time friend in New Jersey who asked if I made it to the Apollo. Yes I did. Damon was awesome. There's probably a bigger tale to tell from that event, but I'll figure that out later if there is. In case there isn't though, let me just say that it's very cool to see black comedians amonst their own people. You get to hear the stuff they don't show you on HBO.

Kristine and I saw Cinderella Man the other night. I could write for an hour about how great that movie was. Run out and see it because it's a fantastic film.

Apple release iTunes 4.9 yesterday. Hay Tim, you were right about these podcast things. They're very cool. I will say though that Apple's own New Music Tuesday podcast is a bit of a waste.

There's plent more to tell you but then, there always is. Now that I have the time, I'll try to keep up with this daily. C U Soon.

A Saturday Afternoon

I'm awake but my head is in a hazy state. I played some killer tennis this morning. No one responded to my tennis email this week so I hadn't planned on playing this morning. Of course, I got a last minute phone call this morning and I was on the court by 9:30. We played two sets. I won both. 6-0 & 6-3.

Whenever I start playing tennis after some time off, I go through what I'm going through now, this tired awakeness. I don't need to take a nap or anything but I'm not about to make any rash decisions. The thing is, I've been playing tennis for over a month now. I would have figured that this mental state would pass. Still, it occurred to me that in the past, I played more doubles tennis than singles. This last month and a half, I've been doing mostly singles.

I'm falling behind on my engagement thank you's. I'll have to do some catch up tomorrow.

Today is June 18th which means the month is more than half way over. I'm looking forward to the end of June because it will mean the end of work for me for awhile. I'm a bit spent when it comes to my current occupation and I'm looking forward to taking a couple months off. I have a few ideas of what I'm going to do with that time but I'm not ready to talk about it here becuase I'm tired of talking about things I want to do in this blog and not following through with them. As time moves forward, I'll keep you posted.

One last thing. Krisine and I spontaneously decided to go to the Apollo Theatre in NYC tonight and see Damon Wayons. I'll let you know how it goes.

This Blog's Gone Sour?

So I got an email from my out west friend Mr. Chair yesterday. He informed me that my blog has expired because I haven't been keeping it up to date. Please don't bury me. I'm not dead yet.

I have however been very busy. Between the move two weeks ago and the engagement party this past weekend, plus I'm still unpacking boxes and I've got an excercise machine coming tomorrow...I find my blogging opportunitites have been few and far between.

Hell, you know what else eats up a shitload of time. Thank You notes. My Mother, God rest her soul, is up in the spirit world right now laughing her ass off. When I think of all the times we had fights because she couldn't get me to right a friggin thank you note...Yeah. She must be having a ball right now.

Because Kristine has decided I'm the better writer of the two of us, I have to write all the thank you notes for the gifts we got which by the way, none of them were purchased from Best Buy. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that I'm not grateful. It's just that, boy, that's a lot of words to write. I don't think it exists anywhere anymore, but I once ranted in one of my old blogs about the lameness of the newsletter format when it comes to Christmas cards. I'm starting to see their appeal.

So, I'm doing 2 thank you's a day. When I proposed the idea of doing 2 to Kristine, she asked if we could do 3. When I asked her how many of the 3 she would be writing, she agreed that 2 was a good number. If you're owed a thank you and you read this blog and you're feeling slighted that you haven't received your thank you yet, just know that I am working very hard to get them all out and for now, I will Thank You for your patience.

Really Quick

Just wanted to check and tell you to go to my friend's blog and check out the link for the Star Wars animation thing. Even if you don't remember Apple Computer's "Switch" campaign, this thing is still pretty freakin funny.
